Who do you see as returning player's? Chad Brandimore, Adam Davis, Dustin Droscher, Jason Fricker, David Fry, Rob Giffin, Chad Grills, Sean Hughes, Lee Jacobson, Lloyd Marks, Mike McKinnon, Chad Michalchuk, Jim Midgley, John Murphy, Jason Reesor, Mike Rusk, Erasmo Saltarelli, Joe Van Volsen, T.J. Warkus, Jeff Washbrook, Justin Williams, Chad Woollard. Returning: Davis, Hughes, Jacobson, Reesor, VanVolsen, Washbrook and Woolard. (I see as must haves) Invite to camp: Brandimore, Fricker, Fry, Giffin, Marks, McKinnon, Murphy (?), Saltarelli, Warkus and Williams. (all available for trade) Trade for improvement: Droscher, Grills, Michalchuk, Rusk Don't take this the wrong way, this is only for conversation purposes only. In another post this subject has come up and some feel strongly about change. So if that is the case, how would you do it? What is your solution?

Back in a Brahmas uniform no questions asked if they choose... Chad Woolard, Joe Van Volsen, Adam Davis Players that will be talked to about signing before camp... Jason Reeser, Jim Midgley, T.J. Warkus, Rob Giffin, and Chad Grills Invited to camp for a look... Jeff Washburn, Chad Brandimore, Justin Williams, and Chad Michalchuk As far as keepers, I am not sure, but I think you will see Erasmo from what I am hearing. I don't know if Fricker will be back, but I know he can play just not a #1 guy right now. A great keeper though as a backup that can be a solid replacement when you need him. You probably notice that I have left off John Murphy, Sean Hughes, and Lee Jacobson. Well, I think John and Sean are getting a little slow and in John's case had to many injuries this year. I voiced my concern about Sean early on in the season and I never saw it get much better. As far as Lee goes, well he is a fun guy to watch but got into to much of the enforcer role and stuck with it. We don't need a dman that puts up 273 PIM and 9 Points. Enforcers are a dime a dozen in this level. I hope Lee gets out of this role, because I think he would be a great player. We need to replace Tilson very very much. We have noone that is a threat from the blue line and that is a major concern to me. He had a great shot and it connected quite a bit. Adam is a great dman but doesn't have the scoring touch yet. Offense is great, but defense is won by two things in hockey from my view...Defense and a top of the line goalie. I am a huge supporter of defensive play in any sport and yes it is not as exciting always, but winning championships is pretty danged exciting if you ask me.... Drew

Chad Woolard, Joe Van Volsen, Adam Davis My Tilson replacement is Cosmo Dupaul if he is playing (was to be ours any way another TL mess up). Then try for St. Jacques, Kevin IND F or Wildfong, Dan BOS F I think Erasmo will be back at least to see if the rest of the rust scrapes off and I'll keep thinking... Of course Sean Brady will be available? Best in pick up hockey Westy

Over and over again many have said on this board how is it the other teams remain so good and have so many returning players. What do they know that we don't, why do they sign early in some cases and why do thier skaters want to return so badly? Why, why, why? Is it the city? The coach? The Fans? Or maybe job security and a winning tradition. Just what is it? Sure enough this is the minor leagues and players want to move up if posible, but for those who know the big show isn't in there future seem to find a good team and nest. We need to become one of those places they want to be at. We need to become that comfort place that is known for, if you skate and play well you have a good future at. We have more to offer then most cities and can't seem to find our way at times. But times are changing, and things are going to get better. So sure and steady should be the course with a real goal set for each step of the way. Starting completely over again every year isn't working, so fix it.......

We do complain about not keeping players around and having to rebuild all of the time. Ok let's look at this subject a little... There is a reason though for having to rebuild constantly. It is called not being very good. I did a quick little overlook to make sure I was thinking right on this one. Here is what I found... I looked at Memphis first...back to back champs... Last year compared to this years, rosterwise... Of the 19 players that played at least 20 games for them last year...7 were not on the team this year...that is 35% gone for whatever reason... I looked at OKC who seems to always be at the top... Of the 16 players that played at least 20 games for them last year...4 were not back...that is 25% gone... I then looked Bossier who has a history of winning championships... Of the 18 players of 20+ games last year...10 were not back this year...that is 56% gone... Our favorite Austin IceBats had 15 players with 20+ games last season...6 were back...40% gone... Now lets look at the turn around teams from last year to this year... Amarillo went from last in their division to 2nd this season and 1 point out of first... They had 19 players with 20+ games the last year...13 gone...that is a turnover of 68% The big story of the year...Indy...they were last in their division...they were first in the conference this year... Of the 18 players that played 20+ games for them last year...15 were not back...that is a whopping 83% change... I could go into a few other teams, but I think you will see the same...Once the team is built and it is established as a winning THEN you can have the option of bringing back a solid core of players. In most cases though I think you will find teams don't go from bottom to top with a couple of player moves...there are major changes... Some of this is also the coach...when a coach takes over like Inglis did this season, you make a couple of small changes, which he did, and for the most part leave stuff alone and improve what you have. You don't clean house in the middle of a season. If you will notice transaction totals, FW lead it for the last two seasons. This is the sign of a desperate coach that is trying to find the golden child in the middle of the season. The problem is the solution should have been dealt with in the summer not in Nov and Dec. One area I have high hopes for is a set roster from day one. What I mean by this is when we end the season there will be less than 5 changes barring huge injury problems. You will find that good teams don't trade and cut/add players mid season unless of injury or personal problems. If a team is making alot of personnell changes throughout the season, they are at the bottom of the pack and trying to just survive. Just some more thoughts... Drew

Not to say I don't hope and pray for it like everyone else. And sure it's alway's possible, but I don't see this coach totally starting over from scratch. He's a class act and I could be wrong but I think he'll keep 5 or 6 key players (maybe more) to help in the rebuilding process. Along with MAYBE pulling in a favor or two for several ringers. This year will be the foundation year that set's in place a system to take this team forward. Let's not forget this team was winning at the end of the season, against team's that were in the playoff's, in well played games. He was able to get a lot out of what he had and the team looked to me at least that they enjoyed it. I'm looking forward to a full year of whoever he gives contracts too.

Way back when they let Billy Mac walk out the door, this organization was being cheap, cheap, cheap. Everyone could see it but them. None of them had ever run a hockey team and thought pinching the penny for the coach was the way to go. Since then, they've knee-jerked and paid the high profile TL too much...then had to fire him. I know it's spilled milk, but just think where we could have been with Billy Mac. He brought experience, leadership, and maturity. Hey, he sounds like Bill Inglis. And, I think we'll get there with Bill Inglis, but it just burns my rump that we had to sit through years of our GM and owner learning how to run a hockey club. Worse yet, think if you were the owner or GM. Don't you know they think about the money they could have had if they hadn't been so cheap in the beginning? With the great city of Fort Worth behind them, their team could have been the pinnacle of teams in the CHL. Surely, we could have been an OKC or Memphis, or Austin. Now, they are years behind these clubs. Geez, this club has done nothing but play catch-up hockey...every year. Their lessons learned are painfully slow in coming. Just consider this...had they had Billy Mac, at least they would have had the ingredient they so sorely lacked....experience. He could have pointed them towards good decision making from all his passed experience. No doubt Bill Inglis will be our building block. Sadly, this next year will be an extreme building year. Probably all of you are very close to right with the numbers of players...old vs new. You know, I think we have a huge amount of untapped support in Fort Worth. I think we could easily become an OKC. We just haven't had the teams to draw the big money guys out of their hiding places. When we begin to produce a championship level team, watch them come out to support the Brahmas.

I can't believe you let that slide. Again not really a good subject for the Board, gosh did we get in trouble last year over coaching biology. We still have not been given the link back. I know there has been comment over alcohol use by team, and fans but I heard a little about the random contact with other recreational drugs last year....hum. Funny it should show up when we talk of players we would like to see in Fort Worth. Best in clear headed hockey Westy

And speculation helps nobody. Besides I thought he was talking about the movie. Of course we are talking about the rebuilding process and how we are all guru's and can see into the future. It's all in fun, desire for a winning season and something to do during the off season. And of course the love of the game. Still think something has to be done with the "D" to become more competitive.
