Just saw one of the best games in years. Buffalo vs Pengs went to the shootout in Buffalo with the Pengs winning. Beat Miller between the legs but some game
outside in the snow and ice. Some good times.

we watched it reminded me of when I was a kid playing hockey on lakes and ponds. Or when the fire department flooded the field, good to see hockey the way I
remember it when I thought I was a star then I fell down........

Same here , Slap. Brought back great memories of playing on Pappillion creek in Omaha, using sticks given to us by Gordie Howe, Marcel Pronovost, and Terry
Sawchuck. One of the players in today's game said it was like being a kid again. I'll bet some of our boys watched it.

Dittos on the outdoor game with the Pens/Sabres with a classic finish, particularly if you're a Pens' fan....I would hope that the NHL has more outdoor games....it's a welcome break from the indoor icehouse routine....I'd fly to Chicago to see the BHawks vs Redwings at Soldier Field....that is if I could get tickets....I'd bet it would sell out in a hurry.... |

Hawks and Wings played in an outdoor game!

OK, now let's think locally. In a few years when the new Cowboy Stadium is finished, why not host a Stars game there? It can easily be done. The company
that put int he ice for today's game is based in Houston.

Gary....Major League Hockey needs a boost and I'd think that going outdorsey particularly in the northern climes would be the ticket....yep, if Chicago
could swing an outdoor date @ Soldiers Field with the Wings, we'd have to get a gang to go north and enjoy some brewskis and the Lake Michigan breezes....

Outdoor temps are not that big a proplem...There is a HUGE outdoor rink in Mexico City right now. There is a small rink in a parking lot in Dallas, several in
Houston and one in Austin. I skated in Dallas when it was 75 degrees! It just takes a BIG system to keep it cool. It would be simple to do it at the new
stadium, or even the old one when the 'Boys move out!

I watched the whole game, and boy it sure brought back memories...especially watching the puck bounce and roll more than slide across the ice. THAT'S
