This is an interesting twist to recruiting... Not sure if any other team has ever done this in the CHL. Probably, maybe, hmmm...
Things are getting pretty interesting around Brahmasland...not sure what to make of some things right now... Anyone going to go watch this? Drew |

Is this okay with the league? To answer my own question, I guess it is or they wouldn't be doing it. This is like having training camp before traing camp.
The teams can have camps (where they don't have to pay the players at all) to decide who they are going to give contracts to. That's training camp.

The email that I received makes this look more like a money making deal , than actually looking for players.
Candidates pay all their own expenses, plus a $200 fee for the camp. Pretty expensive for a few workouts, if you don't get the training camp contract. |

This is standard practice for the Juniors. The NAHL does it all the time - and they charge too. There are plenty of quality hockey players (ex-college,
juiors and pros) around here who may be willing to take a flyer on this camp (go check out a drop in hockey session anytime to see). It's a good way to get
a couple of rookies into camp.

I don't think I've ever heard of a pro team trying this kind of recruitment tact and I'm not sure if it's a good idea or kinda makes them seem
a little desperate?
I'll be in DFW then so I may take a look. |
