No details yet but the Brahmas have purchased..... A SLEEPER BUS! How 'bout that! Should erase any doubts about the club's committment to putting
together a first class operation.

I had heard this as a real possibility soon after Wildfong's hiring. It is no real surprise based on the individuals that I know were involved in the idea
and push behind it....I am not also willing to say at this point that this was an act solely and alone on the part of the club...
It is great news though and something that has been needed for many years.... Glad to see it finally come to realization.... Drew |

Very encouraging. How do they sleep everyone anyway? They must have to stack them three high.
Now if we could only land a couple of enforcers, we would really have something! Or, have I mentioned that before? |

I hope it is nicer than the one the Cavalry Jr. A had. They bouth the one from the Cotton Kings, and it was a piece of junk. I tlooked nice, but it broke down
almost every trip. I was told it was also more expensive to own and operate than to use a charter service which had nice busses.

Now that IS good news - I know as long as I have been around it's always been a bone of contention. Things may just be looking up |

Zam, some of the charter buses were also nothing but crap. I remember a particular coach who was bounced out of his bunk because the sleeper had no shocks. The
bus was also repoed because the charter company had not paid a motel bill. Then the clutch went out. I think the Brahmas ended up having to pay for repairs so
the bus could get the team to Bossier. Even so, the game was an hour late starting. Then you have the charter driver who went through OKC to get the team to
Memphis. Nope, having your own bus is definitely a huge plus. As much as anything, it shows a desire on the part of management to run a first class operation.
Finally, it is a tremendous recruiting tool. I say, "TAP,TAP, TAP!"

Big tool don't make a good repair man. It just adds to the overhead. I wish turning things around and winning lots of games could have been solved by
getting a fancy painted vehicle. Our problem ran a lot deeper than a volvo tractor and shined up trailer. If they don't win it is just an expensive meat
hauler. I still wait to see the team and what they do on the ice.

I fully understand "I still wait to see the team and what they do on the ice", as I have not bought tickets yet. Drew hinted of "other"
sources that may have funded the bus. The last I personally heard Stuart speak about the bus went something like "Get me another XXX of season ticket
holders, and I'll buy the bus". Something has changed...is changing. This is not the "old" managment speaking. It may be new enthusiasm
produced by our new owners and their expectations, or just plain more wealth. You know, it is most surprising this is all kept close to the chest by those
driving the train. It's new, it's good, it's exciting. Why the heck doesn't someone tell us how it all came about. It doesn't matter
how.........they cracked the egg. They are poking around outside the old shell. New ground. New ventures.
You're right, "Best in fancy duds don't make a cowboy hockey", but it's a new step.........somebody is trying. For me, from many years back, a sleeper bus would have been a tremendous signal of change. Mainly comittment.......... What's next?
Experience is the thing you have left when everything else is gone.

It won't win games directly, but it will get some players to look around that can win games. Moves like this will get you the talent that is needed. It
isn't a wise investment from a purely financial standpoint, but then again is a Zamboni a wise purely financial investment (notice I didn't say
decision)? Some things are necessary to do business and don't always make sense financially...
