Well, I thought I might add my two cents on this.....

When I heard that the old club was being replaced, one of my first thoughts was to the many hours of hard work that had gone into supporting both this team and its players. I was one that dedicated time, money and hard work into providing a good name to the club and its reputation with the league and the incoming players. I knew that this was the time of year that the club should be spending a large amount of money to get ready to house the players for the year. I was hoping that the club in being dissolved might see fit to provide some of its money to insure that the players coming to town would be taken care of in the apartment items that we have always provided. I sent a email to the president and asked what the club was going to do with their funds and see if they would provide some of it to the players in donations of housing items. I was not asking for them to donate to the new club. Not per see, to the new club but to provide apartment items for the players. This was what the purpose of the club had been since its inception. I made two requests but I never got a response from either one. On one posts, I read where they were questioning on whether the old club was dissolved..... that was voted on at the last meeting. The club was dissolved at that time.

So, I went to the booster club meeting and had hoped to find they were interested in maintaining a reputation of having the players interest at heart. I found that they were not interested at all. I found this very sad. What I did find at the meeting was even worse. I re-discovered why it had been nearly two years since I had attended a meeting. It is a true shame that the old club had come to the point that it had. I have lifelong friends that I have made within this club. I will always cherish the time that my family spent with the club and the good times that we all shared. But, this club was nothing of the old club. It was time for something to change. I respect the decision that the club made and I know that some of the old members will not be happy with my letter. I am sorry to all of them but this club was so negative and disrespecful to many.

All of this comes to my response concerning the funds......I made requests before and they were ignored. I too would like to be informed of the decisions on what they are going to do with the money. Many of you, invested in the club and wouldn't you like to know what charities are going to helped in the disolution of the club. $4,000.00 will be a help to some and I would like to know what charities are being helped. I would think that they would want to make the decisions quick and publically to erase any doubt any might have on accountability to its members. That is all that was being asked.....

So, don't be so quick on here to shoot the messenger on this. This was a club to the people on this board and this is the one place that this could be approached as a way to find out the information. It would be nice to find out off this board and privately but I know that you don't always get a response to your requests.

I cannot wait for the season to start and see alot of very old friends and make new friends from the hockey world. It is a clean start for everyone. It is a positive start for us all. I can't wait for the journey to start.
