And I'll say it again; Mudbugs fans are just outright rude. Granted, upon our arrival to the CenturyTel Center we were greeted by several folks who welcomed us to their arena. But, while we all sat watching our team get their a$$ spanked; make that kicked, we were taunted all night long by some friggin 12-year old in Section 102, Row T (?) running up and down the stairs yelling at us about how our team sucked every time the Bugs scored a goal. It was quite obvious who he learned those antics from, as his poor excuse for a mother, sat there on here drunk a$$ all night long chanting how Texas (and the Brahmas) sucked.
During our ONLY goal, the little brat child ran over and tried to cram the horn of our beloved sixth man down his throat. Well, of course, this sent everyone into a frenzy… the ushers and security rushed down to our aide, and eventually composure of our group was regained. The childs mother, and I use that term loosely, claimed that her child was doing no wrong, that it was "all our fault", we started it by touching her kid.
The usher and security sided with us, stating that they had seen the kid taunting us all night long. The usher asked the mother to control her child, or they would both be escorted out of the arena. During the remainder of the game, the child was constantly looking over at our section and just glares at us. He got up and went over to talk to his stick boy buddies, and tried to sneak back up the isle by us, but his mother caught him and waived him the other way. Once the game was over, the usher and security personnel came down to thank us for coming to the game, and making sure the mother and her child stayed away.
Cheers to the event staff at the CenturyTel, but jeers to the folks at the CenturyTel
Center who represent the Mudbags and their fans. I will never step foot in the CenturyTel Center again, as it is quite
obvious that fans from the visiting team are really not welcome.
