Three rookies from the Amarillo Gorillas were selected to the Central Hockey League Southern Conference All-Star team as reserves Saturday.
Forward David Nimmo, who leads the Gorillas with 31 points, and defensemen Nate Fornataro and Shaun Arvai were named reserves by Arizona Sundogs coach Marco Pietroniro, who will coach the Southern Team. The All-Star game is scheduled for Jan. 16 at the Broomfield Event Center in Broomfield, Colo |

I think they look at individual play and not the team when the coaches select players. As individuals I guess the coaches thought they were deserving.

Only the starters are "voted" on (CHL Head Coaches, Communications Dept and select media). The rest(reserves) of the team is picked by that coach of
that conf(the top team at some point in the season, maybe Christmas?). In this case, it is Rocky Mt HC Tracy Egeland.
