Two Colorado players suspended for Game 7 in CHL playoffs
Eagles will be without captain Greg Pankewicz against Texas Brahmas on Wednesday.
The Colorado Eagles will be without captain Greg Pankewicz and Jay Birnie in Wednesday night's Game 7 of the Central Hockey League's Northern
Conference Finals following their actions in Monday's Game 6 against the Texas Brahmas.
Birnie and Pankewicz both received three-game suspensions.
The Brahmas, who sport a gaggle of former Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs including head coach Dan Wildfong, rallied from a 3-1 series deficit to force
Wednesday's all-or-nothing contest.
Texas, which swept the Mudbugs out of the first round, defeated Colorado 5-4 in Game 6 at Budweiser Events Center. Following the game, the Eagles and
Brahmas got into an altercation resulting in the suspensions.
Game 7 at BEC will faceoff at 8:05 p.m. (CDT). The game can be seen on Nifty TV.
Colorado forward, Fraser Filipic, and both the Eagles and Brahmas organizations have been fined an undisclosed amount for their roles in the Game 6.
