If I understood Kelly's relationship with the Star-Telegram, it would be a contract type. She was not an employee of the paper, and I think she indicated to me that becoming an employee would be hard to get. As we all know, Kelly really started to shine by reporting all the great things that happened to the Brahmas last season. I don't know, but I think you could find Kelly visiting the Brahmas team almost any day....a lot.

We all can remember when it was hard to get the ST to write anything. Our successes attracted a lot of press.

I had made casual friends with Roy Lang...umm, mainly because of his friendship with Dan. I always met Roy when he was visiting here and when I visited Shreveport. Roy was definitely a Mudbug fan with the deepest ties. And, I wonder now if they were too deep. I wonder if Roy ever slanted his views over his friendships within the Mudbugs camp. He was a commentator with the Mudbugs announcer. I think Roy felt the series loss as devastatingly as the rest of the Mudbugs staff. I wonder if you can be that close and still be objective in your reporting. I hope that was not a catalyst in all this and hope he was able to keep a professional distance. Outside that, his reporting always was interesting with a good bit of detail.

When we were in the play-offs with Shreveport, I tried to get Kelly and Roy to do a face off about the series. I think it would have been a fun add-on. So many of us saw Kelly so much...always working. I hope her replacement is just as good. What is Robert Keith doing these days?

The latest update on Roy Lang was he was either promoted with the Shreveport Times or given more responsibility with other news coverage.

No one seems to know who will replace Kelly.
