Did any of you read on the Bug Board or on Glassrattler about this. He was in a very serious accident and has 3rd degree burns over most of his body and is in
critical condition. Read about it on Glassrattler. Has a wife and 3 children.

Also, some of Baird's ex-Corpus teammates have set up a fund for him and his family. Here is the information on how to contribute: You can send a check to: Baird Family Fund Account
You can also transfer funds to the Baird Family Fund Account #2614 if you have a Bank of America Account. You can also use Bill Pay if you have an online bank account. For more information, you can look up the Baird Family Fund on Facebook.

His wife sat next to me the first game after the trade. She had come to watch him play the Brahmas. She is a sweetheart and seems like a great kid. But at my
age they all do. Might better do something for these guys they are just plain good people.

Patty and I are sending a check and encourage others to do the same. Les Borsheim could use some help as well. It's been a tough off season for hockey
players.

Update on Jason Baird from his wife. She mentions another way we can help - give blood. What a great gift that is!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hello again, Today was a good day. Jason rested as I played Tragically Hip for him (thanks Joey) and his vitals stayed stable all day. He of course reacts when they move him to help continue in his daily recovery routine but for the most part he stayed rested today. His breathing is still very strong which respiratory tell me that is wonderful because once he comes off the ventilator it will be easier for him to adjust to breathing fully on his own. He is looking better each and every day and though this road is a long one he seems to be jogging rather than walking down it! Not that you could expect anything less from Jason. We have his third surgery scheduled for late tomorrow afternoon on his back and will also find out the results of his right arm. So tomorrow is a big day! For those of you who are worried about me, please don't be On another note, I have to put this out there because it is soooo very important! On surgery days Jason recieves alot of blood. And today actually he recieved even more. Which this is normal so don't be alarmed by this. But my point for this subject is I cannot stress how important it is to replace what is taken each day. Every time you donate blood you literally save someone's life. Someone has helped save my husbands almost every other day. So please when you see that your community is putting the opportunity out there, it only takes twenty minutes or so to save someone's life. Today six people donated blood on Jason's behalf. Thank you. Well tomorrow I will update early again so that you all know the results sooner rather than later. Thank you, thank you, thank you
for all the cards, flowers and prayers!! Like I have said before and will keep saying, you guys are so wonderful and we really appreciate everything. Jason
and I are really going to have alot of thank you cards to write when all this is over Love, Bethany |

Blood donations | ||||

Rick and I were over the Shrine blood bank last year. Our Shrine donations of both blood and platelets that are donated in this area go the Scottish Rite
Hospital in Dallas to help with blood that is needed there. If anyone does donate blood and would like to donate in the name of the Shrine ---- just tell
Carter Blood Bank that you are donating and would like it to be credited to Moslah Shrine. Carter is ALWAYS is need of blood. We went on a tour of their
facility in Bedford last year and it was so interesting. We were shown how they process the blood once is donated and transported to their bank. They have a
command central that processes all blood and stores it. They are the ones that pull the blood once a request comes in from the local hospitals. It makes a
great group tour.

I have been reading the update on Jason this afternoon and everyone needs to say another prayer for this young man and his family. His wife seems to be a very
strong young woman. I would love to meet her someday. He has done remarkably but has such a long road to go. Rick and I are leaving tomorrow to go to
Galveston and we are going to be going to the Shrine Hospital there. It is a burn specialty hospital. I have heard alot of stories and I hope that I can do
this. I am looking forward to seeing their skin bank. They are the ones that developed artificial skin that they can grow themselves. They are also the ones
that invented Ensure and Pediasure for burn patients to drink. Most have trouble swallowing and they invented this so the patients would be able to get some
nutrition and be able to swallow it too. It has just been used now for so much more. Jason Baird will be in my thoughts while I visit this hospital. I hope
the Brahmas do some kind of fund raiser for the Baird family once the season starts.
