Nope for this guy and it took a while, it will not be the same without the Austin Ice Rodents. Years past when I was a CHL purist the WPHL was a upstart bunch of rowdies that wanted to sell my sport as a cross between Friday Night High School Football, Roller Derby, and a thing on the coast called Roller Hockey. And of all places to have teams, Austin, Belton, Waco, Abilene. I though what a bunch of losers. And better yet there was this guy that had jumped on the CHL Board and was posting like he knew a thing or two but was talking about all the wrong teams and places. Besides the new teams were using different sized rinks, different rules. Some were even playing in real cow barns where you went outside to potty. I callled it "any place will do" hockey and it did. We visited the other teams and were amazed and appalled. Skimpy cheerleader suits. One night they had to call the guy from the Texaco station to come work on the zam between periods. No one knew what to expect next. Then Horne Chen folded the CHL, his personal domain.

Life without the Bats? A team almost as hated as the Iguanas, or Ok City, or Tulsa. But none as hated as Dallas. I like the Black Hawk Sweater but never enough to get one. The Bat Cave a place where the drunken fans would pee off the "Belfry", an upstairs club, that over looked the path the opposing players would have to take outside to get to the changing trailer where they suited up. What memories! And there were some girls that had great aim from that distance. (Big Smile)
