I heard there was a Snake sighting in Dallas...a real Big Snake. Can anyone confirm ?

Texas is known for big snakes so could be one hanging around. Don't know why it would be sighted in Dallas though. You sure it wasn't in North Richland
Hills?

If we can't find a Big Snake will a Red Herring do? Or how about a couple of pounds of snow crab legs? Its crab fest at Lucille's.

If the Snake was here, he must have hid under a rock.

Any more on this rumor? Or can we stick it with a fork and call it, "done?"

BOOSS, all I know is Robin Big Snake is still an unsigned player. Rumors say he has "personal issues" and that may be a reason he isn't signed
yet. He is a player with better than average hockey skills and can fight too, so you can bet some coach will take a chance.

Had a source say YES.....and so it begins

Happy, if you had a source that said, "yes." What was the question?

If you are confirming your original question, then why the heck is it taking him so long to get inked? At the CHL level, don't we just ink them or move on?
I want to hold out hope, but this thing has gone on for two weeks.

The ink has long since dried..players can be signed without announcements

I'm intrigued. It's a done deal? I hope this is true. This would certainly fill the enforcer gap. I realize an announcement is not necessary, but he is not listed on the roster either. Is the team trying to hide it? While an announcement is not necessary, why wouldn't one be made? This leaves me perplexed. No offense here, but why is it left for "happy gilmore" to make things public? |

The team will try to build anticipation and make announcements closer to puck drop. Maybe sway somebody on the fence looking at season tickets or something.
Like poker don't show your cards before the deal is done.

Maybe sway somebody on the fence looking at season tickets or something. Why would I wait until ticket prices were higher to buy season tickets? Keeping information out of the public view is not going to help sell one ticket. I understand the logic, I just don't see it being a real helpful way of doing business...just my opinion... Drew |

maybe it is because they don't want other teams to find out and strategize against it....all teams do it

Put the gun to my head and pull the trigger! Geeze!
All this is as subtle as a screen door in a submarine. The strategy is try to take him out in the first few games. No big deal when everyone knows and if Happy knows so does all the real hockey folks that count. Waitin don't sell tickets. They ain't but 3,000 or so know the rink is back up and as far as the Brahmas may be a few hundred so far. You tell the people what you have or you keep it all under raps until the day of introduction which by the way is impossible here in Metroland. By the time the mgt makes their play it is no longer news so its duh! so what. Except for three dwarfs on a desert island who contact us about January and ask about a player from two years ago. That is what we have been beggin for. Just a little class. Best in where is my gun hockey Westy

Well I wasn't attempting to be subtle here. I want information. I want a team I can cheer for. I want grit. Grit is never subtle. I have always said, if
you want discretion from me, its simple. Tell me what I want to know and tell me to keep my flap shut. I will honor that. Make me find out myself and all bets
are off. Besides, the only team that might not know what you have is the first team you play against. Sorry, Westy. You won't keep it a secret for the
first few games.

BOOSS the subtle comment was not fer "U". I am on yer side here. If you gonna stick it up here and says they are signed with the ink dry then state
yer bonafides or move on. I can't tell much about im. Even if they have signed the snake I am not impressed by what I have seen on U tube or the stats.
That is what bothers me about a string of new players. I won't be convinced until I see if they can still play or play together. Stats just tell you what
they once did not what they can do.
I await good hockey.... Big Snake or no Snake. Best in where is the snake hockey Westy who knows nothing about all this hockey

maybe it is because they don't want other teams to find out and strategize against it....all teams do itI know the logic, but let me ask you why ONLY minor league hockey (besides the AHL) does this stuff? You don't see it in ANY sport except minor league hockey. Heck, even in the high school ranks, most other coaches know about transfers and freshmen coming into the program of their most heavy rivals/district opponents. Why? Because they talk to each other all the time, while the public might not know, believe me the coaches do. Yeah, you can get the drop on a team the first time you play them or maybe the first few games of a season in a sport like hockey or bball, but honestly with the way scouting and game films are now, your team is looked at 100 times over by the 4-5 game of the season. I don't mean to be disrespectful, but not all teams do it either. Yeah they might hold back a big signing for dramatic effect a week before the season, but overall the team is announced well before training camp. The reality though is we are still 2 months from game 1, so there is plenty of time to announce player signings. Heck, this season I think we have seen more signings announced early than the last few combined. This is simply pre season speculation and past seasons' concern. Like I have stated a few other times, this is not like Bossier, Colorado, Laredo, or even OKC. Fans of the Brahmas have nothing to keep their concerns back, they have nothing to look at in an historical manner and say "Yeah, we would like to know and it bugs the crap out of us, but in the end our team is always good". No what Brahmas' fans are used to is a huge buildup and promise of change on the ice, only to see their team out of the playoffs by Christmas time... This is what this "second coming" has the chance to change, but it will take time and one season won't cut it, it is just the reality of how fans are and how long their memory is when things are bad and yet how short that memory is when things are going well and a bad season comes around once in 10 yrs. It is like this, if the Brahmas tank again this season, then everyone will be like nothing has changed, if they win big, it will be great for a few months and then it will be was it a fluke, prove me wrong. A prime example of the other side is TCU football, it was HORRIBLE for TWO DECADES, now it is a top 20 program in the country, but mark my words, if they don't win 10 games, their conference and play in a big bowl, it is a disaster of a year in many fans eyes. It is just the world of sports... Drew |
