Are you suitably impressed by the team so far? How many or what percentage will stick? Is it a good class to start camp with and what would you add? I know
what one regular wants. We hear he is already signed and his name is Snake. But short of playing some hockey what now my love?

I think it's the best looking team we've had since Bohonos. Has the potential to go deep in the playoffs. For sure this team will be fun to watch.
Would like to see a player who shoots left, plays right wing, goes 6'4" 220, and has played the last four seasons in the ECHL. Snake would be a
welcome addition also.

Big, scoring winger, D man to run PP and a reptile would do it for me.

IMPRESSED, not totally....I'll say it's a good start so far, but with the past history I'll remain a little more cautious. There are still
unanswered questions and open positions. And the seasons not here yet nor is a team finalized. Remember on paper we've had several years we should of been
great.

Well, we have at minimum 2 more dmen and 4 wingers to go to complete 3 lines.
The two last dmen should be large if the trend continues, and considering we already have 3 experienced dmen and only 1 rookie, I would anticipate another few younger players with a deep desire to learn from the older dmen. I don't think we have seen all the offensive power signings yet though. The offense at this point is still slanted to the younger players with a few good experienced players. I would like to see a few mid career players with 2-3 yrs under their belt and some experience from playoff teams. It would be nice to have 4-6 forwards with 20-30 each for a change here in Brahmasland. The only 3 seasons with 4 or more 20+ goal scorers in Brahmas history came in 01-02 (1st round loss), 98-99 (3rd round loss), and 97-98 (lost in the finals). Besides these three seasons, there has never been more than 2 with 20+ goals and some yrs NONE with 20 goals. Why do I want more with less and not 1-2 40+ goal scorers? Pretty simple really, more players that are a threat so the opposition has to have a gameplan to spread out their best defenders and not just concentrate on a single line. We have seen it for the last 4 yrs, cover the 1st line and score on the 2nd and 3rd lines...it makes for an easy game plan and no real strategy needed... welcome to jr high sports... I still would like to see another good goalie signed to compete for a spot on this roster. I can't stand players not having to work for their spot on a roster. It breeds those things I talked about earlier in demanding more from your favorite team. What does it tell a player when he doesn't have to fight for his spot? Sign another goalie capable of making this team, not just another goalie to fill out the training camp roster...let them fight it out... IF Big Snake has signed, then that would be a welcome addition for grit and a heavy hitter, but that doesn't complete that need. I still say we need 3 that can drop the gloves and clean someone's clock if needed... Drew |

Looks like those who do not fear to tread where angels dare not go have shown up, but as Tennessee Earnie Ford would say, " Where's the Pea
Pickers?" I know we had some new outspoken ones and they tell me everyone is lurkin like a gurkin. What say ye about the needs on this here team? Beast or
Fowl?

I am impressed with what Dan has signed so far. Still a piece or 2 shy of solid, but considering they are having to do a hard sell (New coach-new venue
(smaller than normal)-team just coming off a suspended season)-not real easy to get good and quality players to take a chance-especially given the history of
Brahma hockey the last 2-3 years of existance.
Signing Snake-will that be a positive or a negative. Lot's of PIMs-were those earned pims or stupid penalties? I think this is a good signing IMO, but time will tell. Looks like he will go with anyone, but does he need to be on a leash for at least a little while?

Okay, no surprise here, but I have to agree with Drew on the grit. One guy is not enough. Just as depth is needed for goal scorers, just as we need good defenders on the bench, we MUST have grit that is waiting for their line change. I know I beat this grit horse to death around here, but it is a key element we have lacked for far far too long. Nothing grips my gut more than seeing our guys go into the boards or being checked hard onto the ice and all we can expect as fans is to see them get back up and take it again. Coors once had a commercial that said something like this,
"John Elway was knocked down more than any other quarterback in NFL history. You know why? He kept
getting back up."

Do you think we are in for more announcements before the week long skate around or will they keep the rest under their hats until we skate together? Or will
they wait until after camp to bring a few new faces to sandbag the league?

Paper Brahmas thumbs up or down? Still niether one have to see how this plays out and a team on the ice. As far as Dan and his crew don't know about that
either. It's not known if he can do the job or not, and won't be until the season is over or maybe Christmas. Now the bus thing maybe it's another
piece maybe not. (If the bus driver can find the rinks he/she is hoing to) There are so many unkowns I'd rather just get down to watching
"HOCKEY" and let it talk for itself.
The teams not complete not even close this could be the highest of highs or the low of all lows....

Holy - you guys are critically. I am sure it took alot of hard work to put a team together and the whole package from nothing. We need to be positive and be
positive to keep confidence and critically when we need to be and that is not now...Way to go for all your hard work to everyone..can hardly wait until hockey
starts...

Hey very positive but very very high expectations. Bring them to the barn make them players. Bring the other teams to the barn roast um good send them on their
way so we can do it again another day. Plus beat them at home a good percentage of the time. Win 80% or better at home and 60% or better on the road and no one
will need worry about Thanksgiving, Christmas or New Years.

I can only say from what I have seen and heard, that everyone is doing a good job and working hard. What more can you ask for and critizing is not the way to
go. I for one take my hat off to them for all the hard work and some of the players that they have brought in are excellent. Way to go to everyone up front and
thanks for bringing back hockey. See you at the games.

Yeah, I agree with ya Gary. Nothing real negative at all in this thread, only a discussion on what could round out the roster for the better.
Like I have said many times, asking for more and expecting more is the way the top franchises stay on top. Being complacent and never expecting better only breeds mediocrity and failure. Drew |

Thingy don't give up, you made your point. You think the hard work has built an excellent team and you are ready to go to battle with what you got right
now!
You think the Coach and Office has been remarkable and you suggest that we all pay them homage for that good work. I get the message. "Whatever" is the worst form of put down, making me believe you may not have good feelings about us as human beings. I want to go on record that I do care about you and your opinions. I do recognize you as a member in good standing of the human race. Best in Hockey Westy
