Former CHL Coach of the Year Leads Finland Over USA

Shedden Making Some Noise with Finland in World Championships The World Hockey Championship has a direct tie to the Central Hockey
League with Team Finland being led by former CHL coach Doug Shedden. The Fins defeated Team USA on Wednesday by a final score of 3-2 in the
quarterfinals.
Shedden is the only coach with four CHL Championships winning twice with the Wichita Thunder (1994, 1995) and twice with the Memphis RiverKings (2002, 2003). His overall record is 231-105-26 in six seasons in the CHL. After his second championship with the RiverKings, Shedden coached in the American Hockey League with the St. John's Maple Leafs posting a 78-64-13-5 record. The 1994 CHL Coach of the Year played 416 career NHL games as a player scoring 139 goals and 186 assists seeing
action with Pittsburgh, Detroit, Toronto and Quebec.
