Thin mints and Bordens?

Best I ever had was just after Patty and I married. We went to Elk City OK to meet her grandparents. Her grandpa had peach trees in the yard and they were loaded. He asked me how I would like to have some homemade peach ice cream. Well that's like asking Butch if he would like some BBQ! Grandpa said "c'mon, we have to get some cream" We went way out in the country to a dairy and he bought a gallon of the freshest, purest cream I ever saw. Then he said "we need some ice". We went to the ice plant in Elk City and he had them grind up probably 50 pounds of ice. Grandma took the cream and mixed up the ice cream mixture and we were ready to crank! As I recall, she added peaches at the beginning and then a bunch more just as the mixture was getting stiff. And I thought," have I married in to a great family or what!" Since then I have judged all ice cream by those standards - none have come close.

I read a list of 18 best ice creams on a national food poll several weeks ago and BB wasn't listed once.

They also left off the soft-serve ice cream at the Keller Golden Corral. Blue Bell has long been a localized ice cream. However, it's now being seen in New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona and parts of California. It's a small creamery and production is limited so it's not likely to ever become a national brand.

Another national food poll of the best burgers in America didn't list any burger places in Texas. We Texans all know the hamburger was invented in east Texas and that the best burgers in the country come from the Fort Worth area. What do liberal New Yawk slobs know about burgers anyway?
